MCS Educational Foundation Sends Five Students to HOBY Camp

Five MHS rising juniors will attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership camp at Dakota State University, June 12-15. The Foundation Board of Directors approved additional support to send three more students to HOBY than their usual two. Hannah Jorgenson, Hailea DeJong, Laura Hare, Sydney Swenson and Ashley Hare each received Foundation scholarships and additional support coordinated by the Foundation from donor, Kay Aus Pederson, and Madison Kiwanis.

Founded in 1958, HOBY's mission is to inspire and develop the global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. Youth are selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences. HOBY camps are conducted throughout the U.S., serving 9,000 U.S. and international high school students annually.
