Foundation Funds Speaker VJ Smith

The Madison Central School Educational Foundation was proud to sponsor VJ Smith as a guest speaker at the High School. This was made possible by the late MHS graduate, Margie Phillips. Margie was a founding board member of the Foundation in the 90’s and was integral to establishing the MCSEF. After her passing, an endowment was created to bring students at Madison Central leadership opportunities. Margie believed that the students at MHS are the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, inventors, educators, and change makers.

“Thanks to the generosity from the Phillips family, we helped students become motivated to be the best they can be. Joining us is bestselling author, motivational speaker and South Dakota state senator VJ Smith. VJ shared a powerful life lesson with us and we will leave this auditorium better people than when we walked in. VJ inspired to show more gratitude, kindness and appreciate what life has given you. VJ’s story of getting to know an elderly Brookings Walmart clerk, Marty, left a lasting impression on our students, staff, and guests like so many others across the country and the world.” said director Renae Prostrollo.

VJ has given more than 2,500 presentations from coast to coast and border to border. He has traveled more than a million miles and spoken to more than a million people. Author of the fabulously successful and bestselling book, “The Richest Man in Town” VJ Smith.
