The Marjorie Haskins Scholarship

Marjorie Haskins had a love of music. She began teaching piano with three students in 1956. Her forty-five minute lesson cost $1.00! After 40 years giving piano lessons, Marjorie retired in 1996. The Marjorie Haskins scholarship is provided to a MHS senior. Because of Marjorie’s passion for fine arts, all seniors are elgible to apply for this scholarship. Preference given to students who have participated in multiple fine arts. Preference also given to those majoring or minoring in Music. Funds awarded must be used for educational expenses incurred during the following school year. This award will be directed to the recipient’s chosen institution. If no student is eligible, funds will be carried forward in the following years until an eligible student is identified. Please complete the attached application and write a brief essay: “Tell about a teacher (preferable music teacher) that impacted your life.”Two letters of recommendation from non-relatives are also required.
